Suck In

This was written for Writing 201: Poetry

Stretched across lean cheeks,

A self-starved teen, more mean

Than she was in jeans

Larger than the ones

She wears at sixteen.

Skin taut, hair clean, stomach tight-

And caffeine not enough any more

To keep her awake

Starvation, now nicotine.
